House of Leorah is a storytelling, publishing, podcasting, and media company dedicated to preserving stories, amplifying voices, exploring imagination, and creating meaningful content across current and future formats. By accessing the website or submitting any content, creative works, submissions, stories, or media (collectively, "content"), you agree to these Terms.

These Terms apply to all content regardless of category or format — current or future.

Minimum age requirement (18+)

You must be at least eighteen (18) years of age to submit content, participate in interviews, appear on podcasts, submit media, create contributor accounts, or otherwise contribute to House of Leorah.

Users under the age of eighteen (18) may not contribute in any form. Any submission made in violation of this requirement may be removed without notice.

Content purpose

Content published by House of Leorah is provided for informational, educational, artistic, literary, creative, and entertainment purposes only.

No professional advice

Content published on House of Leorah does not constitute medical advice, mental health advice, therapy, legal advice, financial advice, or professional counseling. Users should seek qualified professionals where appropriate.

User conduct

Users agree not to:

  • Violate any applicable law.
  • Submit unlawful content.
  • Submit defamatory content.
  • Submit copyrighted material you do not own or have permission to use.
  • Harass or abuse others.
  • Attempt to disrupt the platform.

Right to refuse service

House of Leorah reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to:

  • Reject contributor participation
  • Reject interviews
  • Reject podcast appearances
  • Reject publication requests
  • Remove content
  • Archive content
  • Suspend accounts
  • Restrict access
  • Ban contributors
  • Decline publication without explanation

House of Leorah is under no obligation to publish, maintain, or continue displaying any content.

Intellectual property

All original House of Leorah content, creative works, branding, design, compilations, editorial work, and curated media are protected by copyright and other applicable laws.

Editorial rights

House of Leorah reserves the right, but not the obligation, to:

  • Accept content
  • Reject content
  • Edit content
  • Rewrite portions of content
  • Correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation
  • Improve readability and formatting
  • Change titles, subtitles, and categories
  • Remove identifying information, names, and locations
  • Remove copyrighted, defamatory, or inappropriate material
  • Remove content that does not align with editorial standards
  • Anonymize submissions
  • Archive, unpublish, or republish content
  • Adapt content into other formats

Editorial decisions are final.

Media adaptation rights

House of Leorah operates as a publishing house and media company. Submitted content may be adapted into:

  • Articles, blog posts, and essays
  • Fiction and creative works
  • Audio stories and podcasts
  • Interviews
  • Social media and newsletter content
  • Anthologies and books
  • Marketing materials
  • Future media formats not yet defined

Users acknowledge and agree that submitted content may be transformed, adapted, condensed, expanded, dramatized, narrated, fictionalized, anonymized, or otherwise modified for publication purposes.

Derivative works & AI-assisted adaptations

By submitting content, users acknowledge and agree that House of Leorah may create derivative works based upon, inspired by, adapted from, or incorporating submitted content.

Derivative works may include:

  • Edited versions
  • Condensed versions
  • Expanded versions
  • Fictionalized versions
  • Dramatized versions
  • Anonymous retellings
  • Podcast episodes
  • Audio adaptations
  • Narrated stories
  • Video adaptations
  • Social media adaptations
  • AI-assisted adaptations
  • AI-generated artwork
  • Anthologies
  • Future creative formats

Such derivative works may be published, promoted, distributed, licensed, and monetized by House of Leorah without additional approval or compensation.

Monetization and commercial use

By submitting content to House of Leorah, users acknowledge and agree that House of Leorah may publish, republish, promote, license, adapt, distribute, monetize, and otherwise commercially exploit submitted content and derivative works created from submitted content.

This may include, without limitation:

  • Website publication
  • Podcasts
  • Audio stories
  • Video content
  • Newsletters
  • Social media
  • Sponsorships
  • Advertising-supported content
  • Membership content
  • Anthologies
  • Books
  • Merchandise
  • Future media channels

Unless expressly agreed in writing, contributors are not entitled to royalties, revenue sharing, licensing fees, profit participation, or compensation arising from publication, adaptation, promotion, or monetization.

Ownership and license

Contributors retain ownership of their original submitted content. However, by submitting content, contributors grant House of Leorah a broad, perpetual, worldwide, royalty-free, transferable, sublicensable, non-exclusive license to use, reproduce, edit, adapt, distribute, display, publish, archive, promote, create derivative works from, and otherwise commercially exploit the submitted content across all current and future media channels. This license survives removal requests, account closure, termination of participation, and future changes to the platform.

No expectation of compensation

Submission of content to House of Leorah is voluntary.

Unless a separate written agreement exists, contributors acknowledge that:

  • Submission does not create employment.
  • Submission does not create partnership.
  • Submission does not create joint ownership.
  • Submission does not create royalty rights.
  • Submission does not create profit-sharing rights.

Publication does not imply endorsement

Publication of any submission, article, interview, opinion, story, podcast, creative work, or contributor content does not imply endorsement, approval, verification, agreement, or adoption by House of Leorah. Views expressed remain those of the contributor or author.

Media company authorization

House of Leorah operates as a storytelling, publishing, podcasting, and media company. Contributors expressly authorize House of Leorah to utilize submitted content across all current and future media channels and business activities related to the House of Leorah brand.

Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, House of Leorah, its owners, contributors, affiliates, contractors, and representatives shall not be liable for any direct, indirect, incidental, consequential, special, punitive, or other damages arising from use of the website, submissions, content, creative works, media, newsletters, interviews, podcasts, or reliance on information published on the platform.

No warranty

The website and all content are provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind.

Contributor warranties

By submitting content, contributors represent and warrant that:

  • They are the creator, owner, or authorized rights holder of the submitted content.
  • They possess all rights, permissions, licenses, and authority necessary to submit the content.
  • The content does not knowingly infringe upon the copyright, trademark, publicity rights, privacy rights, intellectual property rights, or other legal rights of any third party.
  • The content has not been unlawfully copied, reproduced, or misappropriated from another source.
  • Any third-party material included has been properly licensed, authorized, or otherwise legally incorporated.
  • They are solely responsible for what they submit.

Contributor communications

By submitting content, contributors agree that House of Leorah may contact them regarding their submission, publication opportunities, editorial questions and revisions, podcast invitations, interview requests, future House of Leorah projects, and legal or administrative matters related to their submission.

Submission of content does not automatically subscribe a user to marketing or newsletter emails. Newsletter subscriptions require a separate opt-in.

Indemnification

Contributors agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless House of Leorah, its owners, editors, contributors, contractors, affiliates, successors, assigns, and representatives from and against any claims, demands, actions, damages, losses, liabilities, judgments, settlements, costs, and expenses, including reasonable attorneys' fees, arising from or relating to submitted content, copyright infringement claims, intellectual property disputes, defamation claims, privacy claims, publicity rights claims, false statements, misrepresentations, or breaches of contributor warranties.

Copyright complaints

See our Copyright & DMCA Policy for how to report alleged infringement. House of Leorah reserves the right to remove or disable access to allegedly infringing material at its sole discretion, with or without prior notice.

AI content

House of Leorah may publish content that is wholly or partially generated with the assistance of artificial intelligence technologies, including human-created works, AI-assisted works, AI-generated works, and hybrid works. All content is subject to human review and editorial approval prior to publication.

Users agree not to rely on website content for:

  • Medical decisions
  • Mental health decisions
  • Legal decisions
  • Financial decisions

Changes to terms & policies

House of Leorah reserves the right to modify, update, or revise its policies at any time. Updated versions become effective upon publication. Continued use of the website constitutes acceptance of revised policies.

Governing law

These policies shall be governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of the State of Ohio, United States, without regard to conflict of law principles. Any disputes arising from use of House of Leorah shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of courts located within Ohio.
